Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles

Canterbury Repertory Theatre is delighted to present The Hound of the Baskervilles, adapted for the stage by Simon Williams from the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and directed by Ross Gumbley.

When Sir Charles Baskervilles dies in mysterious circumstances, his last remaining relative, Sir Henry Baskerville, travels home from America claim his inheritance, Baskerville Hall, which lies on the edges of the wild moors of Devon. The 1ocal legends say that there is curse on the Baskervilles, caused Sir Hugo Baskerville’s actions many years earlier.

The curse has taken the form of a gigantic, ferocious hound, which stalks Dartmoor and has caused the death of successive generations of Baskervilles.

When Sir Henry turns to Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson for assistance, Holmes suspects a fiendish plot and begins to unravel the mysteries of the moors in a race against time to save Sir Henry from the fate of his ancestors in this fast- moving and often zany adaptation of the time-honoured classic.
